Water pollution in California is a major issue that has been one of the main causes for them to ban plastic bags. The ocean water has raised a big health concern in California because people are swimming in water that has trash floating around them. Banning plastic bags is one of the most important things that have happened to the California environment because it will reduce the amount of plastic that is going into the Pacific Ocean. The water in California has a very big impact in what has caused the great pacific garbage patch. This has a major impact on California because people now have to worry about what is around them while being in the water.

They are also responsible for all of the diseases that they are putting into they oceans that they swim in. lots of people don’t really notice the trash that comes from them. When people step foot onto the beach they can actually see the trash that ends up onto the shore and they just look at it like its nothing. Lots of people don’t see the harm that its doing to the animals that are living in the ocean and to the birds, all of these birds are eating trash that they think is food and end up dying because of it. All of the plastic that is in the Pacific Ocean is all of the trash that people from California just throw into the ocean. All of the rivers and streams are in threat of being polluted, which is a 40,000mile radius (yubanet.com). Lots are animals are now dying because of all of the pollution that is all around them. Sea creatures are starting to float to the top because of all of things they are around and to the things that they are eating. Lots of fish are eating anything they see in sight. Also because they are tempted to eat whatever because they trash looks like what they want to eat. Most of the time birds are scooping everything out of the water like plastic bags and other items that float out to the sea. As of October 2014, California has put billions of contaminated water into the aquifers and the water that is used for drinking and farming is now contaminated. (Mike Gaworecki). In February of 2015, 9 of those water sites all have been dumped with wastewater and other pollutants that have been given to the citizens. The central valley water board has only tested 8 or so of those 100 nearby water wells. It has been shown that these contaminated waterways are proven to cause infections to people.
