Many of us have heard presidential hopefuls running for the 2016 election, repeatedly present their stance on immigration reform. Americans who are following the political debates and current news have heard improbable ideas on how the candidates will supposedly fix the influx of illegal immigrants entering the country and how current immigration laws will be enforced or changed. Some candidates claim they believe in immigration reform and reestablishing the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Families, also known as the DREAM Act. The DREAM Act should continue to guard those diligent immigrants who have obtained a working permit form the United Sates Immigration Services, by passing background checks and meeting all the requirements set forth by Immigration Services. DREAMers are stand up members of their communities and current citizens should feel safe knowing their borders are protected.
The DREAM Act is an American legislative proposal for a multi-phase process for undocumented immigrants in the United States that would first grant conditional residency and upon meeting further qualifications, permanent residency. An alien minor indicates the parents of the minor came into the country illegally or overstayed their allotted time per their visa with their young child.
