Remember getting on social media, seeing a post that made tears come rolling down? People in our world like to go on social media and make fun of other people, and these people are known as cyber bullies. What is cyber bullying? Bullying, in general, is an aggressive behavior that has any harm or influence on a person. The different types of bullying are physical bullying, cyber bullying, and verbal bullying. All types of bullying have a strong influence on a person. Cyber bullying is one of the many forms of bullying. While cyber bulling has been around for a while, the rate is steadily increasing as our Internet increases. More people are cyber bullied because the bullies target more than one person at a time. When a person sees an embarrassing post about them on social media that is Cyber bullying. People will hurt themselves because they have been cyber bullied. In our world people do not realize how much damage they can do to another just through social media. Cyber bullying can lead to people going into depression and lowering their self-esteem. A victim of cyber bullying is even willing to commit suicide. Victims will be scared to go to school because they are terrified of what may happen to them. Words being said about a person are just as bad as them being physically hurt. Bullies do not realize the damage they are doing to their victims. Movies and books have been made about cyber bulling to let people know how it happens. Once a movie was made called Cyberbully. The movie was about a teenage girl named Taylor, who was cyber bullied by her own friends, Samantha and Cheyenne. The teenage girl got a laptop for her birthday, and she was ecstatic. She became a member of a social website. Taylor’s brother hacked into her profile and posted a message that would ruin her reputation. Members of her school start putting unpleasant comments about her, making her not want to return to school. Taylor met a guy named James on the website, and he seemed nice at first. James started spreading rumors that he and Taylor had slept together. Taylor, pushed to her breaking point, posted a video saying she cannot deal with herself anymore. Her friend shows up at her house while she was in the process of trying to commit suicide. Taylor was sent to the hospital and her mom recommends her attend a support group. Samantha ended up being the person who cyber bullied Taylor, and they later regenerated their friendship. A law was eventually passed to help fight against
