Why do people bully, what is the point of it? The professions on the PBS website state that, “In high school there is a lot of bullying and there is many types, ways to bullying and causes that professionals in this problem are trying to find more about” (7). Seeing this article may help get a better understanding of bullying, the types, reasons that it happens and causes, that way anyone can help of and find a solution to this problem. Bullying has been a problem for a very long time and even though no one has found a perfect solution of for it. Cyberbullying has effected people in many different ways, this is when people are using online in an inappropriate or disrespectful way. Said by Diana Levin, Ph.D, “The media influences how they treat each other and what they talk about” (7). Statistics show that woman use cyberbullying more then men because they tend to not like working it out in person and that way the victim will not aways know who the criminal is. An example of cyberbullying is when two someone or a group of people is targeting someone and they find some kind of picture, video, etc, that could hurt or humiliate someone. Finally, they put it on line that others see and then make fun of the victim and thats when it leads to cyberbullying. The next type of bullying is called physical bullying. Physical bullying can be pushing, shoving, punching, or kicking from one person to another trying to purposely hurt them and doing it receptively. Michael Ollove stated in the Christian Science Monitor, physical bullying is getting better across the country (37). Physical bullying does not happen as often with girls ad it does boys.
