The continuous rise of tuition and fees is getting out of control. Alarmingly high numbers of students are resorting to getting student loans to cover the cost of obtaining a higher education. I think it is absolutely absurd and colleges should stop raising the price of tuition so rapidly. I have family members who are either still paying off student loans from years ago or are currently acquiring them. The student loan crisis is definitely a scary thing, but it is something I personally am not affected by. Although my life is not directly affected by rising tuition costs currently, that could easily change in the future. Over the course of my life thus far I have been fortunate enough to have all of my college paid for. Upon graduation from high school I was given one free year at our local community college. When that year was up and I still had no idea what I wanted to do in life I decided to join the United States Air Force. While serving in the Air Force all of my college course were paid for. Once I separated the Air Force after a little over four years I was provided a post 9/11 G.I. Bill. This gives me the opportunity to attend college for free. Although, I know colleges have a lot of expenses themselves. Such as professors and depending on qualifications I am sure some get paid more than others or demand higher pay. In turn causing the college to raise tuition fees to cover such cost. It is not only the colleges themselves, the government also needs to step in to fix this growing problem. Even though I personally am not currently affected by the student loan crisis I can see the severity in the problem and sympathize with those who are affected. It is a problem that needs to be addressed quickly before the affects are irreversible or take decades to
