Bain’s responsibility to care for and treat his patients in an efficient and effective manner. It is Dr. Bains ethical duty to carry out all work practices with due care and diligence in a safe working environment while providing the best care for his patients. In addition to carrying out work practices, Dr. Bain should exhibit a high degree of punctuality and stewardship when performing work tasks. Also, Dr. Bain is responsible for following and abiding by all morally accepted principles and policies in and out of the workplace. While it is Dr. Bain's duty to care for his patient, Mr. Collingsworth also plays a pivotal role in his recovery. Arman & Hök (2016) stated in their journal article "Self-care follows from Compassionate Care – Chronic Pain Patients’ Experience of Integrative Rehabilitation," that "the long-term outcome of any intervention for people suffering from chronic pain relies on the patient’s ability for self-care" (p. 374). Mr. Collingsworth can deem himself responsible by being punctual in the aspect of meeting with Dr. Bain at all scheduled times, taking any additional medications prescribed by Dr. Bain, and taking into consideration and carrying out orders given by Dr. …show more content…
Bain why they chose the field that they are in, and to never throw in the towel when the going gets rough. Both Dr. Bain and Mr. Hollingsworth should act in a responsible manner – being well equipped and following all moral standards – and Mr. Collingsworth acting in accordance with all doctor's instructions in order to acquire the best treatment possible. Empathy is needed on both parts and should be administered by everyone. Ultimately, doctors, nurses and those working in the health and medicinal field should carry out their jobs in such a way that they are passionate about their career choices, be responsible in every aspect and show empathy – especially towards those in need.
