JonBenét Ramsey was the daughter of a wealthy business man and socialite. She was born August 6, 1990, in Atlanta, Georgia. The 6 year old was a beauty queen, winning the following titles: Colorado State All-Star kids Pageant, Little Miss Charlevoix, Tiny Miss Beauty, America 's Royale Tiny Miss: Division title, America 's Royale Miss Colorado Dream Queen, Miss Colorado Sunburst, Sunburst National Pageant: 2nd place, Colorado 's Little Miss Christmas, and Colorado 's All-stars Christmas Pageant: Metal for talent. JonBenét was found murdered in her parents’ residence in Boulder, Colorado on December 26, 1996. This was one of the most broadcasted cases of the 1990s.
The morning after Christmas in 1996, 911 received a call from JonBenét’s mother, Patsy Ramsey. Before she called 911, Patsy discovered a handwritten ransom note on the spiral staircase within the family’s home. The note read, “At this time, we have your daughter in our possession. She is safe and unharmed and if you want her to see 1997, you must follow our instructions to the letter" (n.a., 2016).
The note demanded a ransom of $100,000 in unmarked $100 bills and the remaining $18,000 in $20 bills (n.a., 2016).
