Personal Narrative: A Career As A Registered Nurse

I recall memories of my mother and I spending time together when I was younger. We talked about numerous things that led to discovering what type of person my mother is and who she wanted to be. Talking with her helped me learn who I wanted to be. I wanted to be just like her. The moment my mother told me she wanted to become a nurse, I decided that is who I wanted to become. As I got older my opinions and dreams became my own, but my future career never changed. Despite still having a lot to learn, remain persistent on achieving the goal of becoming a registered nurse. As stated previously, registered nursing has been a dream of mine since I was little. Unfortunately, I had no idea what they actually did. All I knew was that registered nurses helped others. I have even more reason to become a nurse now that I have put the time and effort into figuring out what I possibly could be doing for the rest of my life. I learned that registered nurses are always ready and prepared for what is to come in their place of work. I discovered that RN’s do not just work in once place doing the same thing, they can work in multiple departments of their choice. I also learned that registered nurses have so many incredible benefits that other occupations may not have the luxury of. But most importantly, I learned that the world is always going to be in need of nurses. No matter where one goes, a nurse will always be there to provide support. I want to be that person that gives a helping hand. Even though college may be tough, and I will be taking multiple science courses for four years straight, I do not believe that this is mission impossible.
