Helen Fisher's First Ted Talk: The Brain Is Love

Throughout this lecture Helen Fisher discusses love and she also what is love. In her first Ted Talk “The brain is love” she talks about a research about couples who where still in love, some who had just being dumped, and ones who were still in love after 10 to 15 years of marriage. She describes a temple who was built by the Mayan sun king for his wife. He had died in 720 AD. When the sun set behind his temple the sun’s shadow shines towards her and the same thing happens to his when the sun shines beings her’s. In my opinion it shows me that death cannot separate a couple who was deeply in love while living. She describes romantic love and how it works with the brain. She wanted to study the brain’s structure and how love affects it’s changes. Helen Fisher describes the parts of brain and the cells that work together to produce wanting and desire. When you are in love Fisher says that you focus your attention on that person and they will have your undivided attention. She says that your energy also increase and you are up all night filled with joy. I believe that every one has felt this way towards someone if not one but at least twice towards someone. Romantic love enables you to have intense craving towards that person. She says that when you are in love you only have eyes for that person. The example she used was that when you walk into a parking lot and you only see that persons car only because it is different and unique in your eyes. I can relate it to when you like someone and your friends disagree and states that he might not be the one for you. But in you mind you believe that he or she is your soulmate and you will not allow anyone else to tell you
