The Beauty in My Beliefs Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” (Pettinger 1) Every person has a dream, however not everyone can see the value of their dream, or in other words the beauty that can result from accomplishing their dream. I can feel the success, accomplishment, and pride, when I envision myself living my dream. My biggest aspiration is to become a neonatal nurse. Many people have career epiphanies, a moment when a person has a sudden realization of what they are meant to do in life. I experienced my first career epiphany when I was 12 years old. My grandfather was given a prognosis of 2 weeks to live, during this time, hospice nurses had been with him, and our family, around the clock for 2 weeks. They were supportive, caring, and helpful. It was obvious how much they enjoyed being there to help. I remember watching the nurses care for my grandfather, and thinking, this is what I want to do one day, I want to help people. Furthermore, when I had my first daughter, I had another epiphany where I thought, I want to help women, and babies, just like these women helped me, this will be my specialty. I will find it rewarding to assist women through their labor, delivery, and post-partum care, in addition to caring for babies, even though some will be sick, and not survive. I am compassionate, nurturing, and responsible. I receive great joy from helping, and caring for people. My personality traits,…
