Technology, especially with the advent and rise of the internet, has lead to a shift in the way many people get news and information, and share that information. It has also led to many technological advances, making the political process much quicker and more streamlined, while also providing much more transparency to the American public. With the rise of social media, it has also turned into a way to make that same information go viral. As technology has advanced and put super fast internet and cameras in almost everyone’s pockets, it has shifted the way people share information, and in the press of a finger, anything newsworthy is instantly on the internet.
Before the past couple decades, most people’s exposure to politicians and most of politics were limited to print and television. It was easy to form your opinion strictly based on the information you were given, as that was probably the most information publically available.
