Target’s current mission statement is, “We fulfill the needs and fuel the potential of our guests. That means making Target your preferred shopping destination in all channels by delivering outstanding value, continuous innovation and exceptional experiences- consistently fulfilling our Expect More. Pay Less. Brand promise.” (Target Corporation, n.d.). Targets mission statement may seem short, but it looks like it covers all the bases. The belief statement doesn’t clearly tell you what they are in the business of selling per say, but it does make it clear that they are in the business of selling products in “all channels” to consumers. The mission statement also says that Target believes in serving their customers or as the corporation calls them, guests. The belief statement seems to have one main goal, making Target the customers preferred shopping destination which in turn is achieved by three supporting goals, value, innovation, and exceptional experiences. Target groups these supporting values into what they call their Expect More. Pay Less. Brand promise.
