Taking A Look At Papa John's Functional Strategies

For this question, we need to look at Papa John’s functional strategies lined up beside their competitive strategies. To begin with, their marketing strategy is one which highly always publicizes their ability to provide consumers with the best of the freshest ingredients, otherwise quality is their primary focus. As with most of the functional strategies in this answer, they tend to lean towards that of the differentiation (no focus) strategy with slight variations at times. For instance, when it involves the financial part of the equation, Papa John’s has always been interested in improving their product when costs are low or high, for them it all about improving the product. Although, when sales were low at one point, they closed a number of their stores with the intention of trying to improve their margins and it caused things to become stagnant (Parnell, 2008).
