As time progresses, America has seen a rise in obesity. First acknowledged in 1977, people would think America should be in better shape, quite literally, by now. The big question that society asks is why is obesity still a problem and why is it getting worse. In the news, people hear what seemed to be the obvious answer for curing obesity, exercise more eat less. According to the documentary film “Fed Up”, it’s all a lie. The documentary film focuses in on a few select obese teenage Americans and their struggle to become healthier by eating less and exercising more. The filmmaker’s of “Fed Up” suggest from various educated persons and events in history that lead to the conclusion that added sugar consumption is the cause for the obesity in America. “Fed Up” was able to clearly produce a standpoint effective to the audience portraying sugar as the main ingredient to blame for America’s Obesity epidemic.
