As often as teachers and admins remind students of consequences, students should know exactly what they are and when they are enforced. Yet, students still decide to talk back to teachers or cause problems with other students leading to fights. It’s obviously not because students don’t think of consequences, they just don’t care what happens to them. It’s not because students are egotistical or cocky. It’s their parents, the parents often spoil their children. Most of the time it’s not intentional. For example, when a child asks for a cookie and the parent says no, the child will often throw a tantrum and scream at the top of their lungs until the parent eventually caves in and gives their child a cookie. After so long of this happening when the parent finally tell their child they cannot have a cookie. The child throws a tantrum, of course, but when the parent doesn’t budge. The child takes the matter into their own hands and takes one regardless of the parent’s wishes.
