How does a health care organization implement a strategic plan? What guidelines should be followed?

While many healthcare organizations have good strategic plan, it is often during the implementation process that most of them fail. The success of a strategic plan is not only in the planning process but also in the implementation process as Voelker, Rakich & French noted “many organizations develop excellent strategies but fail to implement them effectively” (Voelker, Rakich & French, 2001). Implementing strategic plan is the responsibility of the CEO and the senior level management team.
