The name changed to Methodist Healthcare in 1998. Today, Methodist is known as one of the major healthcare providers, which operates approximately 1600 beds, serving populations of diverse socioeconomic characteristics across a large area of West Tennessee, North Mississippi, and East Arkansas (Healthcare, 2014).
