It’s disheartening to read and watch media coverages about certain minority groups being the targets of discrimination due to their race, nationality, gender, and religion. Mass media plays a huge role in determining what issues are important and how we should think and act on fixing the issue, yet. it is only effective for a short period. In other words, people tend to ignore big social issues after the media stops covering it due to us being ignorant about the scale of the problem. One example would be the repeal of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. More than 800,000 people are affected and are at risk of deportation/subjected to discrimination.
