But in the media, the LGBT community is represented as a minority. In 2015, out of the 215 major movies released, only 17 movies had a character that identified in LGBT. When looking specifically at transgender characters, the absurdities increases. Characters that are transgenders are only used for the 4 P’s. Prostitute, physo, punchline, and poor thing. In the movie,Dressed to Kill, Michael Caine dresses up as a transgender and goes on a killing spree. Normal is a documentary that focuses on the life of transgender men and women. The narrator did not take any of the transitions seriously and even refused to address the character's pronoun seriously. This is a serious problem for the future generation. There is only so many movies that show the LGBT community and if they decide to portray them in a bad way, the young kid will not comprehend the reality. Through all these movies, the LGBT community is looked down upon and can cause major insecurities for children that feel this
