Who is Stephen Jones? Well if you asked me, I would say he is the go-to man for hats. He’s worked with tons of people in the fashion industry to name a few; John Galliano, Vivienne Westwood, Glies, and Marc Jacobs. Mr. Jones has also created hats for Boy George, Dianna, Princess of Wales, Take That, Mick Jagger, Kylie Minogue and Dita Von Teese. “Mrs. Jones was born in Cheshire and schooled in Liverpool, he became a part of the London fashion scene during its explosion of street style in the late Seventies. A student at Central Saint Martins, he was also one of the era's style-blazers at the now legendary Blitz nightclub in London - where he always sported a striking hat of his own idiosyncratic creation. In 2009, Stephen was nominated for a BAFTA, a Cesar and Oscar for the hats that he created for the film CocoAvant Chanel for Audrey Tautou. He also did some work for Sex in the City2. In May 2009, Mr. Jones staged a significant exhibition at the Victoria& Albert Museum in London, he titled it Hats: An Anthology by Stephen Jones, the exhibition had over 100,000 visitors. Stephen also had a solo exhibition, which was called Stephen Jones, at Mode Museum in September 2010, in Antwerp. In February 2010, Mr. Jones was recognized for his achievements, when he was made a Royal Designer by The Faculty of Royal Designers for Industry, awarded an Order of the British Empire by Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. Today, Stephen Jones boutique, studio and ateliers are all located in Georgian townhouse close to the site of this very first millinery salon.
