Special Education Policy Case Review There are four sources of law in the United States, one of which is the rulings of judicial courts (Russo & Osborne, 2008). It’s these court trials and judicial opinions that determine how legislation is to be interpreted and applied because at times, legislation is ambiguous or broad or may not necessarily take into account the affects of preexisting legislation. Three cases, Doug C. v. Hawaii, PV v. Philadelphia, and Endrew F. v. Douglas County School District are recent cases…

I learned the harsh truth and quickly changed what I wanted to be because of what I learned from my research. I was able to recognize that what I wanted to do with my learning was my choice and my teacher was there to guide me, not control me. She could of easily told me that it was the wrong choice and to choose another career…

Most people change their career decisions multiple times before they actually pick a final job, but I never had an interest in anything other than being a teacher. I have always connected with younger kids over high school or middle school children, which is why I chose to major in Early Childhood Education. Many kids are ignored at home or even bullied at home and I want to make all those children feel wanted and to know that someone is there for them and truly does care about them.…

Parents were faced with humiliation and public scorning for having a child with a disability and lived in fear. People are now more widely educated and have advanced over the past century to include children with disabilities as part of society and not simply a disgrace to be swept under the rug.…
