The same social media platforms some women use to embarrass their child’s father on, now allow men in the fight to express their side of the story. For example, black men had a negative stereotype of not taking care of their children for decades. That was put to rest in 2013, when the National Center for Health Statistics released a report proving otherwise; black men were number one in that category (Blow, 2015).
The solution to this social problem begins where most of the negative effects are taking place, the community. The legal barriers are invisible. Some men are too afraid or believe the court system is always on the mother’s side. This is not true, although, the success rate for many men is no higher than 14% (Hughes, 2011). Going back to my solution, which is to prevent custody battles in the first place.
