When discussing strengths, Mr. S was able to list his ability to cook, the way he maintains his room at the booth, and his ability to come to appointments and seek help as essential to future success. Although, Mr. S states that he believes it will be difficult for him to go shopping for food as he has never done this before independently, and only has a vague recollection of doing so with his mother; by reassuring Mr. S that the interview process would involve getting him help in functional and social tasks, that involve things such as this, he showed understanding of the interview’s importance showing good insight once again. Finally, upon discussing with Mr. S about motivations to find work and/or go to school, Mr. S was surprisingly very open stating that he would like to work at a place like the Wal-Mart he used to work at, as he had good memories of his work experience there. He also expressed interesting in going to a trade school to learn how to be a PAB; both aspirations were encouraged, and patient seemed to be content discussing them.
