Small steps to a healthy lifestyle “We are what we eat” once my parents told me when I was a child. I was so small, so this phrase did not take my attention. While I was growing up, I started to realize how important nutrition is. Moreover, I understood that the most important thing I can do is to make my nutrition as healthy as it is possible.
Nutrition is a vital process for the body. If a person wants to live, he must eat. People obtain energy, building material for the growth and repair of the body, bioactive nutrients, and an impact on their minds. Healthy eating habits are able to give people health, longevity, and beauty. A healthy diet requires a regular supply of nutrients: proteins, carbohydrates, fats, minerals, vitamins, and of course, water. In my opinion, the most important age is teens because during this period forms the understanding of the healthy nutrition. Parents play the main role in the formation of child’s understanding of healthy diet. Parents are responsible for child’s health, diet, and well-being. Teenagers are people from ten till eighteen years old. It is quite a long period of time, so it can be divided into three main periods:
- 10-13 years old.
This is the period of the growth of bones and muscles. During this period, children’ organisms need proteins, especially meat and dairy.
- 14-16 years old.
This is the period when endocrine glands form. Parents should explain to their children that he or she probably will have acne. So, during this…
