While the re-animated creatures in Frankenstein and Imhotep the Egyptian creature in a movie the mummy are both portrayed with a surprising sympathy, it ends up badly for both of them. The creature Imhotep whose mummified body was accidentally brought back to life brings a bad curse to the Egyptians as he seeks revenge (The Mummy Movie). Victor’s creature unlike Imhotep was created with the purpose of blessing its creator. He was a product of love and commitment to bestowal of animation upon lifeless matter (Shelley, Mary & Robin, 1994 pg. 54). Imhotep was brought back to life after being banished from the kingdom. He was punished by death and mummified for the crimes of murdering Pharaoh and using dark magic from the book of the dead. Sadly, he was the only known person to be cursed with hom-dai (the most evil of all ancient Egyptian curses) (The Mummy Movie).

He promises to disappear with the mate and never cause trouble to humankind again if Victor builds a mate for him. Victor yields to the order and accordingly builds the female creature but changes his mind and destroys it (Shelley, Mary & Robin, 1994).
To the disbelief of the monster, he kills Frankenstein's best friend Henry Clerval, and later kills Frankenstein's bride Elizabeth Lavenza on their wedding night to respond. The monsters action leads to Victor’s father death out of grief making Frankenstein resolve to search for the monster and kill him before getting a pneumonia attack after falling into the freezing water. The explorers ship found him and brought him aboard but the monster later boarded that same ship and upon finding his creator dead, the monster departed never to be found or seen
