If you were a teen, would you go boating by yourself? Boating is “rowing or sailing in boats as a sport or form of recreation” according to google dictionary. The article “Boating Starts Early for Many South Florida Water Kids” indicates that many children start boating when they’re little. “Parents of Rescued Teenage Sailor Abby Sunderland Accused of Risking Her Life” by Paul Harris and “Families Call Off Search for Missing Florida Teens” by CBS News are the two main articles that will be used for evidence in this argumentative essay, “Teens Should Not be Allowed to go Boating Without an Adult”. Many people argue that teens should be allowed to go boating without an adult ,but the reasons that teens should not be allowed to go boating without an adult …show more content…
In addition, teens should not be allowed to go boating without an adult for the reason that it is a very difficult task. When I have gone boating with my dad, I have seen him have to move the boat onto the ramp, tie a rope to the docks from the boat, wait for everyone to get on, divide the weight of everyone (so that the boat doesn’t tip), start the engine, drive over the ocean while checking the GPS every five seconds and so on. Some may argue that teens should be allowed to go boating without an adult and that sounds facile (or easy). For example, my friend’s parents let her go boating without an adult because they think she’s old enough, but that is not the case, she has told me
