Cannabis is a very controversial drug in today’s times; in fact, many ask if it is safe to use but many also believe that it is the gift from the devil and that if we smoke the special blend of herbs that we are giving into the temptation of his devilish ways. On the other hand, I stand for the legalization of marijuana because I personally believe in the major use and mass production of said drug. Throughout, time people have constantly been studying and practicing different forms of drugs for a number of purposes. For instance, the drug Marijuana or what may be referred to as yarndi, weed, pot, ganja, stick, joint, hash, cone, choof or chronic is mainly a depressant which slows the brain down. Cannabis or Marijuana is commonly manipulated recreationally or as a medicinal drug. In some cases, it may be utilizing to fulfill certain religious or spiritual preferences. Also, many use it medically for certain pains that may occur due to the certain disease/ illness they might have; such as, cancer, multiple sclerosis, or even PTSD. With that being said we can concur with it being probably one of the most commonly used drug globally. Cannabis should be legalized for it may help people who are depressed seasonally, mentally, clinically, or even genetically. Frank Lucido, MD, who specializes in the use of cannabis for an anti-depressant claims "With appropriate use of medical cannabis, many of these [cannabis-using] patients have been able to reduce or eliminate the use of opiates and other pain pills, Ritalin, tranquilizers, sleeping pills, anti-depressants and other psychiatric medicines, as well as to substitute the use of medical cannabis as a harm reduction measure for specific problematic or abused substances with a much more serious risk profile (including alcohol, heroin/opiates, and cocaine)."
