Women who are unable to carry children or having a child poses a large threat to their life , abortion is a great option for them. They don 't have to risk their life for a child that might not live as well. Some health conditions that women have that lead to them having an abortion is HIV/AIDS , Cancer , Heart disease, Diabetes and many more. There are also some diseases that the fetus may have that may result in the mother having an abortion such as Down syndrome , spina bifida , sickle cell anemia, cystic fibrosis and more. Many anti-abortionist think that women only have abortion because they don 't want a baby or cannot afford a baby. In some cases that may be true but others it is not. Sometimes the mothers are looking out for their health and the health of their child. Many groups of anti-abortionist/ Pro-life activist are fighting to have Roe V. Wade overturned because they feel it is unethical and against human rights. Most of these groups are led by the newer generation of teens and young adults. Abortion typically occurs after a woman is sexually assaulted and to save her mental health she may have an abortion. Abortion does have alternatives such as adoption but some women cannot go through the nine months of pregnancy without being attached to the fetus and may recant her adoption agreement. Studies show that single mothers who do not get an abortion often live in poverty or get into abusive relationships. Studies also show that women who don 't have an abortion and don 't give their baby up for adoption end up physically or emotionally hurting their children. Some women cannot bear the burden of the child they decided to keep but didn 't want and end up killing or giving their child up to the social services system where the child will go from foster home to foster home until adopted. The only issue with this is the older the child is the less chances they have of being
