There is no official law that gives an unborn child unalienable rights but they definitely have them socially within the pro-life group. This movement also include religious people. According to the religious side, having an abortion is a wong doing against God’s creation or a sin(The Society of Jesus in the United States). Again, there are no official rights for unborn children but these people beg to differ and think that individuals unborn or alive have rights that should not be taken away(Brownback). In contrast, there is the pro-choice movement. Pro choice leans more towards the rights of a women and her body. They want less or no restrictions on abortion and more bodily freedom(“Abortion”). Every day abortions have caused an innumerable amount of mothers to take the lives of their unborn. Abortion, as defined by the Merriam-Webster dictionary, is “the termination of pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus as a spontaneous expulsion of a human fetus during the first twelve weeks of gestation-- miscarriage, the induced expulsion of a human fetus, or the expulsion of a fetus by a domestic animal often due to infection at any time before completion of pregnancy.” As the contentious dispute progressed, there became two distinct positions; people were either pro-choice or pro-life. Pro-life, as based on Palmer Williams, an Associate Counsel for the ACLJ policy, follows the…

Abortion is a highly controversial topic today and many philosophers have differing opinions on the subject. As stated in The Philosophical Argument for Life, “The philosophical argument for life has two simple premises one from natural value and one from natural science.” These two differing viewpoints create a completely different way of looking at abortion, but even within these two viewpoints, lies several differing arguments. In breaking down these arguments, natural science claims that life begins at conception.…

Abortion has been a great topic of debate for many years, both in terms of law/rights and in morality/religion. The constant debate has split people into two sides: Pro-Choice and Pro-Life. Those who are Pro-Choice believe that women have a right to decide the fate of their body, health, and life. They personally may not get an abortion, but they feel that it is still the right of the mother to choose. Abortion prevents unsafe pregnancies, protects women 's right to choose, liberates women from patriarchal control over women 's sexual and reproductive lives, and allows the mother to choose whether, when, and how often to have a child.…

If a female decides that she does not want to carry a pregnancy to term, that is her prerogative. It is a decision that will solely affect her life, so she she be the one to make it. Some women are raped, resulting in a pregnancy. Pro-Life advocates argue that the resulted fetus should not be aborted because it is innocent and aborting it will be punishment, however, they do not put into consideration the women’s emotional and mental state. Another reason women get abortions, is if there is something medically wrong with the fetus.…

Groups identifying themselves as “pro-choice” defend a woman 's right to have control over her own body. There has been a long existing debate of “Pro-Life” versus “Pro-Choice” about whether or not women should be able to abort a child. Many people being Pro-Choice will use the argument that the fetus isn 't a living person, and rather that it is the woman’s body; therefore the woman’s choice. There are other options women have such as adoption: waiting until the baby is born and providing the child a well-suited family to properly care for them. I believe any way you can avoid aborting a child is better than abortion because you give the child a chance for life. An unborn child in the womb contains all of the characteristics for it to be considered living, proving abortion is morally and scientifically wrong.…

The Pro-Choice argument is that that women have rights over their own body and have the right to choose what they wish to do with their body. The Pro-Life argument that women do not deserve to have those rights which means they would be forced to go on with an unwanted pregnancy. Many people believe abortion is wrong because it is taking away a life, however abortion performed at an early stage in a pregnancy is not taking away a life. Therefore, abortion should be legalized throughout all states in the U.S., as women should have rights over their own body. Abortion history goes as far back as the 1800’s.…
