In health care, shared leadership is becoming a norm day by day due to the fact that collaborative teams produce much safer care. The leaders are sharing the organization vision with all in more creative collaborating ways than the older mode of leadership of command and control (Kerfoot, 2000). The health care is adopting evidence-based approaches and techniques such as Six Sigma, or Continuous Quality Improvement from other industries such as aviation, nuclear plant, and manufacturing industry, where team work is highly visible and protocols for safety are prominent (Corn, 2009; Nissen, Merrigan, & Kraft, 2005). More people get injured and die from health care treatments than motor vehicle accidents, breast cancer, or AIDS (Vogus, Sutcliffe, & Weick, 2010). For changing this statistics continuous improvement in systems and processes is required. For that to happen, employees’ involvement is mandatory as they are the best people, who know the day to day procedures and even the problems.
Culture shift away from blaming and shaming an individual to finding the system deficiencies has to happen for the employees to come forward and share the near misses or mistakes. To create a

In health care physician hold higher authority over nurses, in general, but that does not imply that nurses should remain mute in decision-making. When physicians and nurses collaborate better teams are formed, which result in the delivery of safe and quality care. If a team of nurses identifies a problem, it should be discussed with other teams such as doctors to make it the priority for the organization (Tran, & Voyer, 2015). If collaborative teams want to gain momentum, then selling of their ideas or techniques has to go the organizational level via open communication channels to the top management level to gain the
