There are many challenges we need to face when we are learning how to be a disciple of Jesus. According to St. Francis of Assisi, to be a disciple of Christ, “We have been called to heal wounds, to unite what has fallen apart, and to bring home those who have lost their way. (St. Francis of Assisi)” In addition, to truly understand the role of being a disciple, ones need to know these roles and need to incorporate them through using their time and talent. Although being a disciple of Christ can be challenging, as a Christian, we are called to be a disciple of Christ, and to manifest the teaching of the Church to others.

In order to be a disciple of Christ, it is essential to understand the roles of being a disciple and to learn how to incorporate discipleship into our action by sharing our time, talent, and treasure with others. Based on the USCCB, one of the foremost priority, as a disciple, is to understand the true value of stewardship, which means acting for others, and putting others’ interests ahead of self-interests. Some simple examples may include the random acts of kindness that you show to others throughout your daily life, such as giving an encouraging word, giving a pat on the back to say a good job, and lending a helpful hand to someone who ask for help. Whereas, other examples, include fully sharing your time, talents, and treasure with others.
