Review of "Get Rich or Die Tryin '" the movie. "Get Rich or Die Tryin '" has been the subject of my essays over the past two weeks. This week I am reviewing the film and making a distinction of the intended audience of the movie.
On the surface, it would appear that the movie is attempting to reach the masses with a very entertaining story, packed with drama and action. However, upon closer observation, and depending on who is reviewing the movie, it can be concluded that the movie was produced with the intention to appeal to individuals who are from a similar demographic.
The movie eulogizes Curtis '50 Cent ' Jackson as most people writing their own story would like to depict themselves; an eventual successor (a hero). It is common knowledge that in our present time, especially in our educational environment, The Los Angeles Film School, there are innumerable young men, and now more than ever, young women, who aspire to be rap star artists like 50 Cent, Tupac Shakur, Biggie Smalls etc., and as for the women, female rap artists such as Missy Elliot, Eve, Iggy Azalea, Nicki Minaj et al.
A closer look at the background of a majority of these aspiring rap artists will likely reveal similarities to that of 50 Cent 's. That said, it is safe to say that these people are the intended audience of the movie. This brings me to the second part of my essay.
