Responsibilities are things that you should do because you are a citizen whether you were natural born or naturalized. Such as you have the responsibility to “pay your own way” which just means that you have to pay your own bills and taxes. You must take care of your children and look out for future generations that means paying money to clothe, feed, and house them. It means being a part of their life and doing your best to raise them, teaching them right from wrong, and helping them have a better life than you've had. It is the responsibility of all students to attend school and try their hardest to learn. You also have a responsibility to be an informed voter, as an American citizen you have the right to vote but you must make the best decision for you and your community, and the only way you can accurately make that decision is if you stay informed on the platforms and beliefs of the candidates. One responsibility of male citizens in the U.S. is to register for the draft virtually all males living in the United States are required to register with Selective Service within 30 days of their 18th birthday. Registering does not mean a man will automatically be taken into the military. During times of crisis or war, the government may decide that they need larger military forces than they feel they could get through voluntary enlistment. The draft is a final recourse that the military rarely has to resort to. You should also be a good person for yourself and others around you. As Samuel Adams said in 1779, “A general dissolution of principles and manners will more surely overthrow the liberties of America than the whole force of the common enemy.
