Responsibility. The first thing that comes to mind when I hear that word is an overwhelmingly long “To-Do List”. It seems as though this word has come to have a negative connotation. However, I don’t think that it should be thought of in this way. I believe that we should gladly carry out all of our “responsibilities” to America because we owe it to our Founding Fathers, veterans, and all of the past generations. They have worked so very hard to create this wonderful country that we are able to call ours. They should be able to depend on us to carry our great nation to new heights by building off the base that they have created. Best-selling author and life coach, Tony Robbins, once said, “Life is a gift, and it offers us the privilege, opportunity, and responsibility to give something back by becoming more.” I consider myself very lucky to live in America. But with this pleasure, comes some responsibility. I think that everyone has different responsibilities depending on who they are. Some may be bigger than others, but they are all important. If we all do our parts, we can continue to be a successful nation.

I believe that one of my greatest responsibilities to America is to be a role model. My goal is to become someone who is looked up to. I have a little brother and he makes me very aware of my actions and words.

I am very lucky to have a loving family, a beautiful home, plenty of food, and clothes on my back. I am thankful everyday that I get to live this life, but I know not everyone is this well-off. We are all citizens of America, and we all deserve the support of each other. Instead of putting other people down, help them up. I like to lend a hand whenever I can. I can easily do this by participating in food drives, donating old clothes, and giving moral support. Helping people out and making a difference in their lives makes both me and them much
