Making an assumption is not always the answer. How could the justice system be okay with situation like this and still have these same men working for this country? I worry everyday for my African American male friends and family because they have to worry about how they move a certain way around the police, how they respond back to them, and they are watched over their shoulders everyday by the law. Our black men have to realize that these White American men look at them as a threat when in reality black men feel intimidated and threatened. We all have to be cautious and who wants to worry every time they step out for some air?
In conclusion, I am proud to be an African American. The 13th really taught me the true history of America. Black history is America in my opinion. The documentary covered a lot of issues that I was not aware of before viewing the movie. I’m glad this film in particular was recommended because I learned more in depth about what really happened in the past and my views are significantly changed towards America in general.
