New friendships can be made that might not be possible without boys and girls playing together. Girls might be intimidated by the boys roughness. However the boys might not want to associate with the girls unless they are on a team. Both genders can learn a thing or two from one another. Plus you can say you played on a co-ed team for future applications. When employers find out that you played on a co-ed team, it will make you more compatible. No matter the situation, you will be able to overcome it because you have experience that made you interact with your opposite gender. Co-ed teams can provide a more social benefit rather than a same sex team. Some people will say it creates unfair competition, and that boys shouldn't be taking the girls spot on the roster.
