Breastfeeding Over Formula Babies are expensive but as a parent it’s your job to try and save as much money as possible. Breastfeeding has so many perks. First and foremost, it is better to attempt to breastfeed than not at all. Breastfeeding has been linked to higher IQ scores in later child hood ages. Breast milk provides the ideal nutrition for infants. It has an almost perfect mixture of vitamins, protein, and fat which is everything your baby needs to grow accordingly. Breastfed infants are more likely to gain the right amount weight as they grow. Breast milk contains antibodies that help babies fight off viruses and other bacteria’s. Breast fed babies also have a lower risk of having asthma or allergies. Breast fed babies have a lower risk of having SIDS also known as sudden infant death syndrome, lower risk of diabetes, and also obesity. Also, babies whom are breastfed fluently for 6 months, no formula what so ever, have a lot less ear infections, respiratory illnesses, and a short period of diarrhea. Breastfeeding in public places seem to make people many people uncomfortable. Another reason woman chose to use formula over breastfeeding is to have a more flexible schedule. For example, the babies father or caregiver can just mix a bottle and give it at any time. Many women feel so constricted when breastfeeding whereas when bottle feeding you can come and go and not have to worry about having to find a secure area to breastfeed your baby. But when bottle feeding you also have to place extra time on hold because babies take longer to digest formula but you don’t have to stop as much to feed them.
