The Milky Way Summary

I personally saw many women back in India breastfeeding in the public. At that time, I used to think how do they do that in public? Aren't they shy that they are exposing their breasts in the public? I use to ask this kind of questions to myself while passing by a breastfeeding mother. In contrast, my experience has been completely different since I came in the United States. The breastfeeding rate in the US is too low as compared to that in India. I barely saw mothers breastfeeding their babies so far. Feeding with the formula milk is commonly seen here.

After watching the video "The Milky Way", I realized that it's not wrong to breastfeed a baby in public as we all know that a baby can feel hungry at any point of time. The chapter "Birth and the New born Child" contains a section called "Nutrition: Is Breast Best?" talks about the advantages of the breastfeeding. I found an alternative in the chapter while watching the video that a woman can cover her breasts with some sort of cloth whole breastfeeding. This is because it is hard to ignore when a newborn baby feels hungry. Moreover, the only thing possible in his/her diet at this time is to provide liquids only. The mother's milk is the healthiest thing among all the liquids that can be given to a newborn.

If me and my partner plan to have a baby in future, I will breastfeed him/her for sure. This is because my culture (Indian) believes in breastfeeding the newborns to enhance mental development. My culture talks about all the advantages of breastfeeding and so does studies show. A newborn, in order to survive, must be healthy and I won't hesitate to breastfeed my baby to see him/her healthy. The reason behind this is early months after the birth of the baby are critical for his/her proper growth and development. This can be achieved by breastfeeding in the best
