Muhammad was the founder of Islam and the leader of Jihad. He was born in Mecca in 570 into a Quraish tribe. When Muhammad was at the age of 25, he accompanied a wealth widow of Mecca to Syria. On their return from Syria to Mecca Khadija, the widow, offered to marry Muhammad. They had 4 daughters, 1 sons, one of the sons dying in infancy, before Khadija’s death. The Quran was written in the 7th century Arabic, the same language spoken by the nurse who raised Muhammad. Muhammad had a dream that the angel Gabriel was leading him (Muhammad) to Islam. It was Muhammad’s wife who convinced him that the dreams were divinely inspired and that Muhammad was a true prophet.
