Group topic: Problem Identification
In today’s session, group members were to: identify problems and negative consequences in the past and current life as the results of addictive behavior; learn how self-defeating messages and negative thoughts contribute to the relapse process; and discuss ways to change self-defeating messages and solve problems in the current life that caused by addictive behavior.
PO was on time and moderately participated in the group activities. PO self-disclosed that he used methamphetamine on 02-06-2016, and changes his clean date to 02-07-2016. PO stated “I saw my girlfriend using, so I took it away from her. I thought that I could handle it, but I was weak and stupid.” PO stated “I am not going to use drug anymore. That was a very bad choice”. PO was able to identify the negative effects caused by substance use, and share how to interrupt and change maladaptive thoughts openly and appropriately. Good treatment progress.
