Moreover their faith is evident from the beginning. By faith, they believed in religious freedom and that’s why they left their homes and loved ones in search of this religious desired. Those who resided in Europe and had this desire did so, and their faith made the voyage a “life altering experience”. Their faith made God’s presence in every hardship they met. In faith they believed that “ they would live as a distinct body by themselves under the general Government of Virginia and with their friends to sue to His Majesty that he would be pleased to grant them freedom of religion.” Their faith in God made them finally achieve this.

This was a belief that few people had been selected by God that would get saved. They had faith that any wrong doing with an intention to obey God's will and wishes could not hinder someone from being saved. Besides, they had faith that God’s grace and providence was present in their lives, and they only needed to have faith and believe in it. “Even before they began their voyage they said to themselves that the Lord by the work of his Providence thought these few too many for the great work He had to do.” This meant that the voyage needed the few selected, strong and profitable to fulfill God’s plan. Their faith is also manifested in the incident after they arrived at Cape Cod “They fell upon their knees and blessed the God of Heaven for getting them there safely,” meaning that throughout their trip, they had faith in God for the journey
