Predict The Effect Of Carbonate Chemistry On Struvite Precipitation

The obtained model was verified with PHREEQC and validated with the experiment. The model can appropriately predict the impact of the carbonate chemistry on struvite precipitation in terms of pH, SI and yield of struvite. For the effect of carbonate chemistry focused in this work, the source of carbonate is only from atmospheric carbon dioxide which is assumed to be in equilibrium with the dissolved carbon dioxide. The effect of dissolved carbon dioxide on the pH of the solution is significant at the range that the pH of the solution is higher than 8.5.
In the aspect of the effect of carbonate chemistry on the performance of struvite precipitation, the pH of the solution was reduced when the amount of carbonate chemistry increases. In the
