I’ve always wondered what a perfect world would be like. When I was younger, I would daydream of different problems that could be fixed in the world. As I grow older, though, I have come to realize that there are three specific issues that I hope could be fixed. These three include the physical and verbal abuse of police officers, gun control, and the lack of support for our veterans and active duty troops.
The first issue that is important to me is the physical and verbal abuse of police officers. Police officers are here to keep us safe. They arrest criminals to keep our streets free from danger, they solve cases, and most importantly – they are positive role models for children.

What is the point of having police, or laws for that matter, if all we do is abuse and take advantage of them? These numerous transgressions against law enforcement officers are so counterproductive, it has become sadly ironic. To continue harming police will not only put them in danger, it will also put us in danger. When police officers cannot proceed with their jobs, criminals roam free, crimes are not solved, and those who commit crimes end up not receiving proper punishment. The second issue that I feel strongly about is gun control. I will say now that I am not in favor of gun control whatsoever. It states in the second amendment of the Constitution that,
“…the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” This is very clear that our founding fathers wanted us as citizens to have the freedom and ability to protect ourselves.
