Life is a precious gift from God. We should take care of it, embrace it, and cherish it. To fully enjoy life, people seek ways to protect their health. This is because health is considered as the best wealth. This is a cliché we repeatedly hear over the years but do we realize the truth behind these words? As defined by the World Health Organization (1948), health is a state of complete mental, physical and social well-being and not merely the absence of infirmity or disease. It is the freedom from disease and sickness; it is essential for our day to day living. How can one work without health? When the patient who already left the medical institution incur costs, the insurer may still bear the responsibility to pay the expenses. Some insurance companies cover rehabilitation facilities or nursing home care while others will settle the expenditures only if the insured is confine to a hospital. Because there are various types of policies, a person must be knowledgeable about its differences, determine the concerns and needs and then find a plan that will satisfy or fulfill those needs. Hospital insurance can bring peace of mind to an individual for the unexpected situations like emergency cases and is applicable for everyone who wants to be prepared when an event of hospital stay is unavoidable. To determine if this insurance would be really advantageous, the person must analyze the benefits of the plan and its costs. If the individual has a family history of serious health conditions like heart problems and want to be prepared in case of hospitalization, adding this to medical insurance can yield good outcomes. Being admitted to a hospital is a rare occasion for most people, but going to the doctor to undergo check-up on a regular basis is more common. Unlike the comprehensive insurance, hospital insurance will not cover consultations to physicians and prescription drugs, so the insured needs to purchase another health insurance to cover the regular medical needs.
