PERSONAL HISTORY STATEMENT
I developed strong work ethic, perseverance, and a good sense of humor from my parents. I have known the value of education since a very tender age; so I have always seen the sky has my limit. Every day is a gift to be embraced wholeheartedly. It is our job to fill that day with a hopeful and meaningful purpose. It has been said that “the most important thing in life is to live your life for something more important than your life” William James. It is deeply rooted in this philosophy that I desire to become a Health Care Specialist. I hope to provide quality health care to the underprivileged. I am motivated to pursue a career in Healthcare because of my desire to help people. I’ve long been deeply troubled by the way so many people often suffer from the lack of adequate health care.

I would like to positively influence the health care sector in order to form a policy or system level; thereby channeling my strengths in a direction that will allow me to have an impact on many people’s lives.
I believe that my personal strengths are varied. Sometimes it is hard to identify one’s own personal strengths, for this reason I surveyed friends, family, and colleagues to get their opinions. The responses I received highlighted such qualities as perseverance, drive, dedication, commitment, patience, communicative skills, and endurance. I discovered some personal strengths and weaknesses during my volunteer experience at the Kunshan Aging Care Center. My volunteer time was spent in the rural communities in an effort to determine if working with children would be a good fit for me.
I would appreciate the opportunity to develop my inherent strengths and interests into a successful and fulfilling career and transform my personal goals into a reality. It would be an honor to have the privilege to continue my personal development in this great

Through the eyes of a jaded 5-year-old, everything was but a perfect utopia, neither a problem nor a care in the world.…

“Wherever the art of medicine is loved, there is also a love of humanity,” said Hippocrates. I have always wanted to work in the medical field, specifically as a Physician’s Assistant because I’ve wanted to help people ever since I was a small child. My mother is a nurse and my father is in the military and a volunteer firefighter, so I’ve been surrounded by people that help others for a living. I always loved knowing that my parents impacted others every single day that they went to work. I want to be able to look myself in the mirror when the day is done and truthfully say that I impacted someone’s life as greatly as my parents always have.…

Upon completing the StrengthsFinder survey, it is determined my 5 greatest strengths are the learner, achiever, competition, strategic, and relator, all of which I expected (Clifton, Anderson, & Schreiner, 2006). While reading the text I examined the various themes of different strengths, relating closely to the 5 assigned by the survey, I am impressed by how well the explanations were written in the book, Strengths Quest Second Edition. The text in correlation with the materials provided from the StrengthsFinder survey brought forth meaning and depth into finding out exactly the type of person I am. Learning is listed as my top strength in the survey (Clifton, Anderson, & Schreiner, 2006). I believe I have used that trait extensively throughout…
