As of now, I am uncertain of what field of medicine I want to pursue. The amount of different specialties that a medical student could seek is pleasantly overwhelming. Regardless of what specialty I will end up selecting, I aspire to be more than a physician that only treats people. I am motivated to give back and contribute to my local community as well as healthcare as a whole. As I learn more about the health disparities around the UIC community, the more ideas come to mind on how to tackle these challenges. I hope to begin acting on these ideas by learning and absorbing more knowledge in order to strengthen these possible solutions. Eventually, I hope to share them and contribute through volunteering and my time in interest groups. Growing
