Medical professionals should follow the infection control guidance in order to avoid the spread of diseases. Failure to do so, can cause serious health complications, and even, epidemics. In the case of "Jacob and the disease leg." The Orthopedic Doctor failed to comply with the infection control guidance, and that might have contributed to the infection that Jacob 's leg acquired. Jacob is a high school junior, who play football and was offered a college scholarship. Right, on his junior year, he had an injury(Compound fracture of the fibula bone) during a practice.…
As we have accepted this belief we grow more accepting of the idea that there are no morals that are superior to others, nor rights or wrongs, moral relativism. Pojman connects these opposing beliefs by showing that people do not solely believe in ethnocentrism or relativism, but a mixture of both, even though people would rather define themselves as relativists. There is a certain pride that…
Ethics is the broad theme of ISLLC Standard 5. The activities related to this standard provided me with a means to reflect on my personal code of ethics, explore ethics from the perspective of a district official, and to hear others’ perspectives of ethics in the school organization. The first activity allowed me to interview Richard Stiverson, a school board member, regarding his code of ethics. The interview was insightful and did not veer far from what I consider to be ethical. With regard to this activity, I was able to grasp the notion that ethical behavior is paramount to building and maintaining trust in an organization.…
Ethical Considerations Project The issue lies in barring the rape victims in taking the emergency contraceptives in many Catholic hospitals. This research advocated many important matters such as the debate whether these hospitals are doing rational proper care methods for the victims. The research was conducted through an unintentional and confidential phone interview with the different institutions. These rejections of Catholic hospitals to compromise standard lawful methods are destroying not only the victims but also the interest of all women.…
When I think about my personal code of ethics I think of the golden rule. Treat others how you would want to be treated. I have had lots of customer service experience which transfers to helping patients. You need to have people skills, good communication skills and all. The way I would bring my code of ethics into my profession would be to respect my co-workers, the patients and anyone I would come in contact with in the professional setting.…
Ethics are defined as moral principals that govern a person or groups behavior. When looking upon codes of ethics you may notice that there are six founding principals that make a common appearance. Those principals are: Nonmalificence, beneficence, justice, veracity, and autonomy. Although, these are huge key principals in a variety of careers not all of them appear in every professional code of ethics. It is usually thought that ethics is a black and white area, but what you may come to learn as life progresses is that ethical decisions can get very gray.…
One of my personal code of ethics is helping. It expresses my values by doing something good every day. It is related to the seven Army values because helping is an act of selfless service which is one of the army values. The second one of my personal code of ethics is fairness.…
I would like to believe that I learned my personal ethics from my family more importantly my parents. Growing up my parents thought me many things that had several messages attached to them. Those messages I now use on a daily basis most importantly in my career. One of the ethics that I could remember is to be caring and loyal friend, neighbor, family, or co-worker. Having these two ethicses has guided me to the field of psychology and is still helping me.…
Employability Have you ever considered the impact of moral integrity and ethical behavior on an individual’s life? These principles greatly impact not only our personal life but our professional life as well. To a considerable extent, our morals and ethics shape our professional behavior and in the healthcare profession these view points significantly impact both our patients and those we work alongside. As a result, morals and ethics are the rudder which sets the direction of our professional career. Ethical Behavior vs. Moral Integrity…
To develop a statement about that incorporates all the aspects of my personal moral and ethical code I had to reflect back on my life, my decisions, actions and the manner in which I was raised. I have always know what I should do but now I can look back and label my choices and understand why I made the decisions I did. My statement is this I subscribe the rule of Hard Universalism, the theory of psychological egoism and because we are always selfish I believe utilitarianism represents the base desires of personhood. Everyone believes their desire is for the greater good and the right choice because they are selfish, these theories go hand in hand and dictate many of the actions of people in this world as well as the cravings we strive to rise above.…
What is your basis of ethics? My bias of ethic is knowing what is right and what is wrong. What I believe is right might be wrong to others because people make excuses and support their verdicts and not differentiating ethics. For instance, I consider people who lie have no principles and they should be honest with themselves in order, to be honest with others.…
One of Cultural Relativism’s appeals is that it results in people gaining respect for other cultures and their different customs. If all cultures were the same, then there would be no cultural diversity and we would only have one uniform culture. Also, because we cannot deem a custom correct or incorrect, Cultural Relativism prevents cultural conditioning. Rather than developing individual ideals we typically tend to adapt to the behaviors of those around us. While Relativism may have many appeals, it also has its shortcomings.…
As a participant of a group, I was open to any suggestion of the three scenarios, considering that each scenario are interesting and would challenge me to apply critical thinking, and consideration to these scenarios. Therefore we will be addressing scenarios 1 and 3. I believe my partner will approach each scenario diligent with consideration and observation. I also believe my classmate will approach these scenarios, not only according to their value systems, but according to their life experiences when making decisions.…
Who I once admired, I helped fire, and I stood by my own personal values, and what I think is professional conduct. It was not for myself, but the wellbeing of others, and the betterment of everyone directly, and indirectly involved. It was not something I was happy about, or even proud of being apart of, but my unwillingness to allow anyone to abuse their power over another, I just cannot stand by, or watch. As a professional, we must be aware of how we conduct ourselves, and to whom we present ourselves to, and in a professional manor. We must not be misleading, or abuse the power we are given, or allow room for this kind of misinterpretation.…
The most important shifts in my thinking about ethical practice is knowing how to enhance the quality of developing the skills and knowing your worth. Ethical Practice refers to the standards of professional conduct that an industry professional is expected to uphold. I feel as though, the way I view things from others people is different. For example, I don 't find anything wrong with giving advice or suggestion in a counseling setting or therapy session. But I learned that it 's unprofessional or unethical to give advice to a client because in our profession our job is to help clients discover their issues or problem to be resolved.…
