Leslie the main character shows perseverance in her dating life. During this episode, she has a date set with officer Dave. Leslie starts panicking and asking questions of what ifs to her friend Ann, such as, "What if he asks me if I been married? What if he shows up with another woman? What if one of my sleeves catches on fire and spreads rapidly? Her friend assures her that that wont happen, but she reassures her that it has happened to her in the past, "All of these have happened to me" she says. Leslie guaranteed her friend that she have done more things like "...accidentally drank an entire bottler of vinegar, went out with a guy who wore 3-D glasses the entire evening...". Despite Leslie 's experiences with first dates she doesn 't give up and tries to overcome the fear, with the help of Ann. They planed to, "go to the restaurant and have a practice date." The practice dates was done more than once and it did help Leslie at the end of the episode, and got her second date set for the first time. Another example of perseverance is between the co-workers when they agree to find dirt on each other. When Tom proclaims, "looking for dirt on me? No point. Give up now". But another of his coworker, Ron, disagreed and worked to find some dirt on Tom. He confronted Tom stating, "congratulate me... I just found out through some pretty impressive investigating that your wedding was a sham". This evidence justify that the characters of parks and rec worked hard to persevered even when they though they wouldn 't make it or when someone didn 't encourage him to do

The critically acclaimed show Freaks and Geeks is a shining example of a TV show that ended far too early. Freaks and Geeks was a show that captured the awkwardness of adolescence, as opposed to the romanticized and nostalgic view typically portrayed on TV. Shortly after Freaks and Geeks ended, a spiritual successor arose in the form of the show Undeclared, created by Judd Apatow, a producer of Freaks and Geeks. Where Freaks and Geeks was more drama than comedy, Undeclared was a lighthearted show that explored the college experience. Although Undeclared presents plots typical to the college experience, due to the lighthearted tone of the show, aspects of typical college life are presented too simplistically.…

The film Park Avenue provides a glimpse of how the rich become richer and how their actions effect individuals in a lower socioeconomic class. On one side of Park Avenue it houses some of the richest people in the world while on the other side of Park Avenue so many families are struggling daily to find employment. The top 1% continue to gain wealth by buying/rigging elections in their favor, covering up environmental mishaps, and cutting necessary welfare programs. This is important to social workers because it makes it more difficult for us to find resources for our clients. As a whole the rich dictates what goes on in society and that is not fair.…

The poor in American Society are the victims of the social theory referred to as CONFLICT THEORY. The theory explains that the social STRATIFICTION SYSTEM is not functioning properly and the rich benefit more from the governmental decisions at the expense of the disadvantaged, those who rightly need the assistance. This theory is shockingly apparent in the Frontline documentary “Poor Kids”. This film follows the lives of three families’ struggling to deal with life’s most crippling situations the best way they can. The film demonstrates that being poor is not always a question of a PERSONAL PROBLEM related to the ABUSE of drugs or alcohol, but of a SOCIAL PROBLEM with unemployment, lack of job opportunities, and in this particular film, recession.…
