On the other hand, lack of exercise can be detrimental to your body. ”Without proper physical activity, overtime the bones can become weak. When this occurs, the condition is known as osteoporosis, which can cause the bones to fracture easily” (DePietro). This is a common condition older adults tend to receive and can be avoided through exercise. Osteoporosis can be obtained through avenues other than lack of exercise, but exercising regularly even when aging can help prevent the development of osteoporosis. Recent studies done by the Journal of Medicine & Science in Sports has found that, “Your blood glucose rises after you eat, then drops as your muscles and other tissues suck up the sugar they need for energy. But after 5 days of slothfulness, your post-meal sugar levels remain elevated instead” (Kuzma). …show more content…
Some people have not had physical activity in weeks, months and others, even a year. So there blood sugar levels are very high and this may lead to diabetes. Simply because someone is to lazy to give their body the necessary exercise needed to be healthy. In addition, lack of exercise has been an immense reason for premature death around the world. A series of studies published by the “Lancet” medical journal says, “researchers reported that one out of every 10 premature deaths around the planet are caused by not exercising. In other words, not exercising kills almost the same number of people as smoking does” (Duvauchelle). This is a crazy statistic and it should not be taken lightly. For lack of exercise to kill around to the number of people dying from smoking is insane. It is proven that those who exercise will live longer and more active lives than those who become
