Organizational behavior refers to the study of people and their behavior in the organization and their work place. Organizational behavior is an aspect that deals with great range of disciplines which includes management sociology, psychology, and communication. Organizational behavior brings about achievement of highest performance and good results due to the application of knowledge about how people, individuals, and groups act in organizations and workplaces. This makes the organization to be more cohesive and coherent. It usually involves organizing individuals, or a group of people to achieve a certain goal. The management of an organization plays a very important role in influencing the effectiveness of the employees in order to achieve a certain goal. The management should aim at incorporating organizational behavior in order to improve individual and group performance and worker safety.
The management in any organization determines the organizational culture that will exist in the organization. The culture further determines the type of leadership, group dynamics and communication in the organization. The workers perceive this as the quality of work life which directs their degree of motivation. The final outcome is good performance in the work place, individual satisfaction, and individual growth and development. All these elements combine to build the model or framework that the organization operates from. Nearly every organization aims at motivating those involved towards a particular vision. By identifying the major individual variables that influence work behavior, an organization can offer an atmosphere that provides components that brings success.
